CUSTOMER NEEDS
Our process begins with us starting from the customer's needs and together we come up with a solution that suits you. We will ask questions such as:

- What technical requirements do you have for the product?
- What design requirements do you or your customers have?
- What is the cost picture for the product?
- What environmental/sustainability requirements are there for the product?
- Is there anything existing that we can further develop?
- Do you want to use us throughout the entire process or only parts of it?

CONCEPT
Based on your needs, we develop a technical proposal of where we think we can end up. We also develop a design and give you an indicative price for what the product will cost.

Sometimes we help you find another existing producer, often in Asia or Europe, who already has a product that suits your needs. Then we can instead quality-assure the product and ensure how we can use this supplier and manage various risks.

PROTOTYPE
If you like the concepts, we produce finished drawings that you then have to approve. We then produce a first prototype.

We use 3D printing for plastic parts and often our own machining workshop for aluminum or sheet metal parts. Some prototypes can also be completed at a subcontractor.

If you approve the prototype, we make it ready for series production. This often requires investment if tools for plastic parts, aluminum or rolling tools are to be produced. We then find a solution for how this should be financed and who should own these.

PRODUCTION
Light By Sweden's philosophy is that the right product should be manufactured in the right place. We are good at some things in Sweden, but if there is a long assembly time, the cost is often too high.

If it is a bulky product, it can instead be an advantage to produce in Sweden, as the entire shipping process is significantly better. Flexibility and speed are also usually increased if at least the final assembly is in Sweden.

QUALITY
Regardless of whether we handle the production or if the product comes from a subcontractor, we work with quality assurance. This may mean testing each individual item or taking random samples of parts of batches.

We do what suits each individual product and always starts from your needs. Light By Sweden never compromises on quality.
