Be bold, brave and stubborn. Companies must embrace these traits to drive the green transition away from fossil fuels. 🌱     That was one of the key takeaways from the Scania Group Sustainable Transport Forum held this week at the beautiful Artipelag in Stockholm where our CTO Martin Pei joined the panel to talk about fossil-free steel.     Three (of many) other noteworthy themes included:   ✔ Sustainability ambitions have turned into action. Companies are investing in the green transformation. It’s now about speed and scale. ✔ Interdependence. We must have partnerships and collaboration across the value chain to make it happen. We all depend on each other. ✔ Incentives are important for changing behaviours and setting new standards. Thompsons UK Limited, a manufacturer of tipper bodies, has been a customer of SSAB since the early 1990s. The explanation for the almost 40-year collaboration is down to their close working relationship, according to Scott Burton, Sales Manager and Joint Managing Director at Thompsons. “The services and technical support we see from SSAB are fantastic, and we are constantly being consulted and kept in the loop in terms of new products that are coming on line. Business Sweden, in collaboration with the Embassy of Sweden in Madrid, Spain, organized a successful Swedish-Spanish forum for green and resilient value chains. This event marked the third consecutive year of the Sweden + Spain Green Alliance's impactful initiatives. SSAB was invited to present fossil-free and SSAB Zero steels during an interesting panel discussion. Country Manager Asier Inchaurbe from SSAB informed about our plans to sell fossil-free steel on a commercial scale in 2026, explained the importance of the steel innovation for the climate and also the green transition overall. Also Sweden’s climate Ambassador and Head of the Swedish delegation at UNFCCC, Mattias Frumerie, joined the forum. He highlighted two words in his speech: urgency, based on scientific data and alarming figures, and opportunity, for economic growth and job creation of the green transition. #SSABSpain #FossilFreeSteel
